Driver Operator-Pumper
This course addresses NFPA 1002, Standard on Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional
Qualifications, Chapter 5, 2017 edition core competencies for the Driver/Operator. It is designed to
deliver the basic knowledge and skills for firefighters whose duties include the general operations of
the apparatus in emergency and non-emergency operations. This includes daily inspections,
produce effective hose stream from a static and pressurized water source, relay pumping, foam
streams, and supplying fire sprinkler/standpipe system.

• Firefighter 1 and Driver Core Certified
• Resident of Missouri or employed within the state
• Possess a valid Missouri driver’s license or valid state or federal identification
